The Skin-pass Mill and Dividing line for Benxi Steel 2300mm Hot Mill is China’s widest of its kind as of today. It produced an average of monthly 70,000t coils since its startup to the end of December 2012, taking one year to get to the target output.
The contract was signed on October 15, 2010 and started up on December 16, 2011, totally 14 months which worked the shortest record of construction cycle in Chinese similar projects. CISDI was entrusted with the engineering design, installation and construction, commissioning, final acceptance test (FAT) and successive production supervision and guidance.
The new 2300 mm HM SPM and Dividing Unit was designed to produce 800,000tpy coils, which can reach the peak speed of 400m/min and heaviest single coil of 40t. Such a unit boasted the highest level of strength in Chinese similar units.
Oriented to the market needs, the line was focused on the more varieties of products with high added value, mostly the sheet coils. Its yield strength could reach 850MPa to the highest, and was designed to produce the specification of 1.0mm~12.7mm in thickness and 1,000mm~2,150mm in width.
